I came here on a nice and warm Saturday morning with a group of friends. The shop had a cute vibe to it, but seating was a bit limited. While it wasn't completely packed, it was still tricky to find a spot to sit. One thing I found really cool was the side window where you could order and pick up, perfect if you're on the move. The staff was kind and attentive. And there's a self-serve water station, which was a nice touch as well. I went for the GOAT breakfast sandwich with a jalapeno corn English muffin. It had an egg with spicy pesto and goat cheese. Initially, I didn't expect much because this shop is kind of tucket away from the rest of Union Square, but this was honestly a very good breakfast sandwich. It offered a really unique flavor profile compared to a typical bacon, egg, and cheese. My spice tolerance is pretty good, so I didn't find it unbearable, but I didn't appreciate the small kick that the sandwich had. Overall, it's a great spot for a quicker breakfast/brunch if you don't want to do a sit down experience. I would definitely come here again to try out some more items.
My new breakfast obsession! Came to Vinal Bakery and got the Sausage McVinal on the Portuguese Muffin (suggested by the girl working there), it was a new flavour for May. It was sooo good! One of the best breakfast sandwhiches I have had in a long while. The spicy mayo went so well with the turkey sausage! Service was quick even though they were very busy. You can also buy the pack of their muffins, which I will do next time so I have my own stock at home! Definitely will be back!
I don't remember exactly why Vinal Bakery ended up on my list of places to visit, but making the treacherous journey all the way up to Somerville from Boston was worth it (or at least that's what I told myself after waiting in line). We came on a Saturday morning, and despite it being packed, the crowds came and went, so by the time our food was ready, we were able to snag a table. The space itself is pretty cramped though, so I wouldn't recommend coming in a group if you want to sit down. They do have benches outside though, for when the weather isn't so bad. I got the Flora with ham, and a spicy chai latte. I don't know exactly why they call it spicy though, because it tasted like a regular old chai latte. The sandwich was good though, despite me not really being a breakfast sandwich person. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but if I'm ever in the area again I wouldn't be opposed.
Vinal bakery sells fancy English muffins. It's located on a corner- there's a take out window on the one side. Most people seem to order and leave but there are a free tables on the perimeter of the small bakery for sitting. Breakfast sandwiches are better than your typical BEC sandwich - I got the Miss Maple: egg, cheese, maple butter. I added turkey sausage too (and trust that THAT WAS THE MOVE)! The cardamon caramel latte was a nice drink for a rainy, chill day in May. We did end up getting a 4 pack to go but 2 breakfast sandwiches, 2 drinks and a 4pack to go was $60. Pretty steep. Very very enjoyable though. I'd be in trouble if vinal was in my neighborhood!
SO GOOD. If you're a fan of a bfast sandwich or English muffins, Vinal is the place for you! Definitely recommend ordering ahead (which is super simple to do online). Ordering and customizing the Sam-I-Am without egg and added vegan sausage. The way the muffin melts in your mouth is delicious! We ordered ahead but the inside of the restaurant looked cute!
Best breakfast sandwiches in the area! We went around 8am on a Saturday morning and they were packed. Would recommend ordering for pickup online ahead of time. The Sausage McVinal and biscuit with maple butter were absolutely delightful. The Sausage McVinal (English muffin with an over medium egg, cheddar cheese, turkey sausage, spicy mayo) was a harmonious blend of savory and spicy flavors, with the turkey sausage adding a lighter twist compared to traditional pork. The biscuit was fluffy and buttery, perfectly complemented by the sweet and salty maple butter that adorned it. Despite the crowd, the service was efficient and the staff were friendly. They have a cute side window where you can pick up online orders. If you're in the area and craving a delicious breakfast sandwich experience, this restaurant is a must-visit!
Finally made my way to Vinal Bakery after hearing great things about its homemade English muffins. The bakery is located on a quiet corner next to a Target. The inside has a few tables with an open kitchen, but there is also a side window for "walk-by" ordering. - Miss Maple on French Toast English Muffin ($6.75): The maple butter had a light sweetness that was yummy. I'm not sure if the French toast English muffin is named so because of the flavor or texture, but it didn't remind me of French toast; it just tasted like a regular, chewy English muffin. However, it did taste homemade. Overall, this was pretty good, but I probably wouldn't get it again. I also think it could have been cheaper given it only contained an egg and cheddar cheese. - Oatmeal Cream Pie ($4): I got this because it is supposedly their most popular baked good. I really liked the oatmeal cookie: crispy edges with a delectably chewy center. However, the cream was VERY sweet, like cupcake frosting. The cookie was also sweet, so, together, I found it too overwhelming. Service was friendly, and they were able to prep my order earlier than the scheduled time since I arrived early. The community crossword by the register is also a neat concept.
Really phenomenal breakfast sandwiches!! Their English muffins are so fresh and fluffy, unlike any English muffins I've had before. The American Classic sandwich with ham was the perfect pairing. There was ample egg and the cheese was perfectly melty goodness. They also have a great beverage menu. I tried coffee milk (a Rhode Island specialty) and it was great! It was sweet and delicious, like the coffee version of chocolate milk. Will definitely be returning again! Check out their sister store, Vinal General Store next door for some more yummy noms including soft serve.
Great neighborhood cafe with simple, delicious English muffin breakfast sandwiches and pretty good coffee. I had the sausage and egg sandwich recommended by the staff and it was good. The maple latte was above average, not mind blowing but it hit the spot with breakfast.
Hidden inside an unassuming cafe storefront in Somerville are perhaps the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a while (indeed, these could give any NYC-deli sandwich a run for its money). The key here is the bread - they use Portuguese muffins, fluffy and chewy and a total flavor sponge. I went with the Flora (spicy hummus, pickled onions, dill cucumbers, arugula) on an oat sesame muffin and wolfed that thing down. Best part hands down was the muffin. I could have eaten it just on its own. I will say though, especially as someone who loves vegetarian sandwiches, that the meat options on the menu were far superior. Next time, I'd want to get the sausage or ham jamboree. The lady working the cashier was super friendly and patient as we were figuring out what to order/changing our minds. Some tables inside, a little cramped, and lots of benches outside. Parking: street options out front but we opted for the massive Target lot a few steps away.
